SAHASRAM - 2ND DAY OF RESIDENTIAL CAMP
Today marked the second day of our residential camp, and we kicked off the day at 6:00 a.m. with a refreshing start, getting ready for our morning exercises. Nishad Sir led us through a set of warm-up exercises that prepared us for the activities ahead. By 8:00 a.m., we gathered for a hearty breakfast, fueling ourselves for an exciting day.
The third session of the day was all about theatre practice, conducted by Mr. Rajesh Chandran, a talented director from Thamp Theatre Academy in Trivandrum. We were initially expecting an acting-based class, but the session turned out to be more than we imagined. Mr. Rajesh focused on body-mind coordination, mindfulness, and spatial awareness. Through a fun and engaging game, we were assigned numbers that corresponded to certain actions, and we had to perform them when called out.
The session also encouraged us to shed our inhibitions and express ourselves freely, an important lesson in theatre and life. Towards the end, we had a brief discussion on the importance of being present in the moment, followed by a feedback session where we shared our thoughts.
In the evening, we ventured out to nearby areas for a survey on waste management. It was an eye-opening experience, as we observed and documented how waste is being handled in the local community. After completing the survey, we returned by 4:00 p.m. for a much-needed tea break, feeling accomplished and eager for tomorrow’s activities.
