SAHASRAM - A DAY AT WAGAMON HILLS

The fifth day of our residential camp was truly special as we embarked on a one-day trip to Wagamon, a breathtaking hill station in Kerala. Our journey began at 3:00 a.m., filled with excitement and anticipation. Accompanying us were our faculty members, Mrs. Veena S.R., Mr. Santosh, and Mr. Nasir. All 54 of us were present, ready for an adventure.

After traveling for hours, we stopped for breakfast at 8:00 a.m., refreshing ourselves before continuing the journey. At exactly 10:00 a.m., we reached our first destination—Wagamon Meadows. The vast, green landscapes were a sight to behold, offering a serene start to our trip. Next, we visited Karikkad Viewpoint, where we admired the stunning scenery.

Our next stop was Pine Forest, a dreamy destination with towering trees and cool weather. We explored the area, did some shopping, and soaked in the beauty of nature.

At 1:00 p.m., we paused for a delicious lunch before heading towards our most awaited destination—Parunthumpara, also known as the Eagle Rock.

Located near Peermedu in Idukki, Parunthumpara is a trekker’s paradise. The panoramic view of endless green forests and rolling landscapes left us in awe. A gentle, cold breeze accompanied us as we walked through the mist-covered surroundings, making the experience even more magical.

As the sun began to set, we started our return journey at 5:30 p.m. We stopped for dinner at 8:00 p.m. and finally reached our college at 11:00 p.m., exhausted but filled with unforgettable memories.

This trip to Wagamon was more than just a journey—it was a refreshing escape into nature’s lap, filled with laughter, adventure, and camaraderie. A day we will cherish forever!
